For all you thumb-twittling, nailbiting swingers craving excitement at Montreat-Anderson, your days are rapidly approaching! What ever your sterotype may be, Fancy Dan, Suzie Straight, Bookworm, Radical Longhair, or typical everyday John and Nancy Doe, you’ll have the chance to reveal your own true, exciting self at the upcoming Homecoming acti vities. Have you been hiding un der the books, behind the stacks, or in the bushes? Now’s the time to upmp out, unfold, and fly your colors as you reunite with fellow students for these gala events. The Black Mountain Recrea tion Field is THE place to be, Saturday — the time; two o’clock as the MAC Cavaliers meet and tangle with Walter State. Every one’s to be there winning or cheer ing, so bring your spirit, your loudest voice, and your bugles out to support the team. Half- Soccer team off and running. Story on page 3. CLUBS ON CAMPUS time, incidently, is its own event and offers lots of attractions, two of which are entertainment by the Owen High School band, and the presentation of our own beautiful Homecoming finalists. Eight is the time and Anderson Auditorium is the place to be for the long awaited Homecoming Dance featuring “Bleu Cheese" coming to us from Knoxville, Tennessee. Come in “nice dress” (that s not “semi-formal ”, prefer ably long dresses for the girls, and sportcoats and ties for the guys) and be prepared for a really exciting evening of “leg shaking”. One really great spectale of the evening, believe it or not, is the intermission at which time the Homecoming court will be recognized and the lucky girl crowned. The nominations for queen and court consist of a wide variety of girls from all over the country and one, Julianna Om- Montreat-Anderson clubs offer a variety of activities from fire fighting to hiking to camping to student government to tumbling. The Conservation Club takes care of the tent dwellers. Mem bers participate in fire-fighting training, driving lessons in Jeeps, camping, hiking and hunting. All students are welcome to at tend the meetings every Tuesday night. The club meets in the cafe teria at six o’clock. Members are requested, but not required, to pay a three dollar membership fee. The money is used for fi nancing club activities. The of ficers of the Conservation Club are: President - Russ Seymor; Vice-President - Irene Johnson; Secretary-Treasurer - Ann Giam- pocaro; Fire-Fighting Chairman - Jim Simmer; Publicity Chair man - Bob Travis; Special Events Chairman - Jan Schwartz. The choir, directed by Mr. Massey, meets every Thursday
